Kerstin Bischl will present KoDaNetOst at the German-Kyrgyz Science Day, organised by the German Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. This year’s event will be hosted in Bishkek — supported by DLR-PT and CASIB.
The event will clearly demonstrate the vitality and success of the scientific cooperation between Germany and Kyrgyzstan. A key highlight will be the work of the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG), established 21 years ago by the GFZ and the Kyrgyz government. The institute plays a vital role in research on sustainable development in the mountainous regions of Central Asia.
Opening remarks will be delivered by German Ambassador Dr. Gabriela Guellil, Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Education and Science Albert Makhmetkulov, and Florian Frank, Head of Division for International Cooperation with Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia at the German Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR).
Among the nearly 100 participants will be representatives of major German research institutions, including DFG, DAAD, IAMO, GFZ, FU Berlin, University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, RKI, Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, Reiner Lemoine Institute, Leibniz University Hannover, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Julius Kühn Institute, the Centre for East European and International Studies, and CASIB.
